ABOUT
Barry Van Zyl is an internationally recognised drummer who has performed on global stages for over three decades. While studying for an MBA at Henley Business School Barry began an ongoing relationship with the school developing new ways of approaching awareness, collaboration, creativity and innovation. As a tutor on the Personal Development module for the Henley Executive MBA program, workshop facilitator, coach, and partner in SVZ, he has delivered workshops at companies, universities and NGO’s internationally. Henley's Dunning Africa Centre commissioned Barry to produce a White Paper titled Resonance which is based on a mix of neuroscience, personal development, physics and musical rhythm.

Henley Business School I Executive Education I SVZ.
Since 2017 Barry has been growing new business for Henley Business School, starting in Nigeria and then in other areas of sub-Saharan Africa, with the aim of ‘building the people, that build the businesses, that build Africa’. As the Chair of the Henley Africa Alumni community, Barry is leveraging Henley’s network of 87,000+ alumni to build the brand in new territories, develop the offer in existing markets, and create innovative new revenue streams. As faculty, Barry is part of the Personal Development (PD) tutor team delivering the PD module for the Executive MBA. Through his work with Henley Denmark, Barry is partnering with institutions like the Foundation for International Management Education (IME), and developing exciting projects that bring together African creativity and entrepreneurship, the future of leadership, and Nordic design.
EXECUTIVE EDUCATION
In addition to his Henley work, Barry embraces his passion for the marriage of the creative sector and executive leadership by designing and delivering corporate leadership programmes in creativity and innovation, entrepreneurship, and the business of rhythm. His clients include multinationals in the financial and professional services, energy, travel and education sectors.
SVZ is a partnership between Barry and USA based speaker, author and coach Rob Sullivan.
SVZ delivers customised group training in the areas of selling, communication, listening, leadership, and decision making. SVZ has contributed to overall business growth for companies in the USA, Canada, EU, South America and Asia.
